    Establishing and Sustaining a Facilities Condition Assessment Program
    Facilities Condition Assessment (FCA) plays a crucial role in the lifecycle management of public buildings and infrastructure. FCA provides key qualitative data used in strategic planning, to make informed funding decisions, and to properly maintain public property. As important as FCA is, many states struggle to establish and maintain an FCA program within their organizations. One of the most difficult steps can be getting started – it seems like an insurmountable challenge. Many ask: “Don’t I need to catalog my entire asset inventory first?”, “Can we even afford to do an FCA?”, and “How do we keep data up to date over time?”. This session will explore these questions and more with a panel of experts who have been there and can share their expertise and the lessons they’ve learned.
