Information Technologies — BD+C Maintenance   

This 1 hour session affords NASFA members with the opportunity to view two technologies which are aiding governmental agencies and the private sector in enhancing their building design, construction and operations:

• MADCAD’s extensive eLibrary of over 180,000 codes and standards (being subscribed by over 100K users from 7,000 enterprises, educational institutes and healthcare facilities, public & private sector agencies – including State and Federal agencies.

• The Construction Industry Institute’s Federal Facilities Data Analytics Research and Application Project and CII Data Warehouse – now completing its development process and open for use in July, 2023. (Developed by 5 Federal agencies and one Canadian Provincial government agency.)

Pelin is the founder of Compu-tecture, Inc. has innovated and developed MADCAD.com platform, a cloud-based reference library with more than 180,000 codes and standards licensed from over 33 SDO’s essential to the construction industry. In addition, MADCAD provides adopted codes, standards and amendments for more than 23,000 jurisdictions. Currently trusted by 7,000 enterprises and organizations across the US, MADCAD is now expanding the library to include technical content such as products, in order to further automate the decision-making process, leading to safer and better buildings. As an architect in the Washington DC metropolitan area, Pelin managed more than 6,000 residential units in high-rise and mid-rise residential buildings from the design through construction administration phases. Pelin is a registered architect in DC and a member of AIA, ICC, NFPA, ANSI, USGBC and NIBS.

Robert Wible brought over 40 years of experience in the building codes and standards field to CII in 2017.  The experience included 21 years as the Executive Director of the National Governors Association affiliated National Conference of States on Building Codes and Standards, 17 years of experience consulting with Federal, state and local government agencies on streamlining their building codes and standards and construction and regulatory processes.  He co-founded National Construction Safety Month, the Industrialized Buildings Commission and the Institute for Building Technology & Safety. At CII he co-designed and established the Federal Facilities Data Analytics Research and Application Project.  He is the author of several books including “Architectural Security Codes &  Standards” for McGraw-Hill and member of several state and local government building official organizations.
