Pulling Your Organization Into The Digital Age
Starting as a “maintenance guy”, Nathan saw the potential of connecting all the disparate information he needed to do his job well. If he could only see pictures of the machinery when it was working well, information on its last service, mechanical drawings, user’s guide and warranty information, he could be more efficient. He partnered with Brightly Software and is now carefully and intentionally adding each new capability to ensure buy-in from his staff and accuracy in the data. With their new automated workflows and digital connections, Nebraska Corrections has found additional benefits beyond efficiency from their digital transformation. Come hear Nathan share his thoughts on taking your organization on a digital transformation journey.Nathan Bornemeier, Engineering Director, Nebraska Department of Corrections

Adaptive Re-Use Of State Buildings
Many state office buildings are beautiful architectural gems worthy of preservation. Some of these buildings date from the pre-war era, have configurations that are not suited to meet modern office requirements, and require significant capital funds to modernize and repair. Although these older, underutilized buildings may not lend themselves to modern office use, they could easily be reimagined for residential projects, hotels, and other more productive re-use. This panel discussion will explore how States should consider not just utilization and capital repair requirements, but also the potential adaptive re-use of buildings being considered for disposition and sale.Peter Heimbach, Director of Special Projects, Tennessee Department of General Services
